While photography and digital art have been added as creative pursuits in recent years, my roots are in "analog" art, and there is still nothing quite like working with traditional media. The STAX series is a renewal and remix of themes explored during my graduate studies in art in the early 1980s. Content is reduced to simple geometric shapes in tension with each other and the fluid space they inhabit. Success lies in eliciting an emotional response through the expressiveness of colors, shapes, and textures. As a process, it’s about developing my creative awareness, as intimated by the Agnes Martin quote.
